Some 150,000 tonnes of 25 percent broken white rice from Vietnam will be shipped to the Philippines on July 15. Bilateral deals allow the Philippines to import rice from Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia under intergovernmental contracts. Early this year, the Philippines imported 300,000 tonnes of rice from Vietnam and 200,000 tonnes from Thailand.
