VTV.vn - One of the first babies born in the new year of the rat was a 3.5 kilogram baby boy who was brought to the world as the clock struck midnight at the National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

The boy is a child of a 24-year-old woman from the northern province of Hai Duong, known by her initials Pham Thi PA.

In absolute bliss, PA named her son Dang Tue Minh in a hope that the baby boy will grow up to be an intelligent man.

Also at the National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Dam Thi H from Thuong Tin District on the outskirts of Hanoi, delivered a healthy baby girl weighing 3.2 kilogrammes just 15 minutes into the year of the rat.

H and her husband said celebrating Tet with their new-born baby at the hospital will be a truly jubilant and unforgettable memory for the family.

According to Associate Professor Tran Danh Cuong, the hospital director, four babies were brought into the world at midnight, adding that the maternity team were proud and delighted for the families of the new-born children.

At the Hanoi Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, the first baby born in the year of the rat was a 3.3 kilogram girl who was born at 1h15 to Le Thi Hong from Me Linh District. She was named Nguyen Hoai An.

Meanwhile at the Phu Tho Provincial General Hospital, staff burst into joy as Le Khanh Linh, an expectant mother from the provincial capital of Viet Tri, delivered a healthy 3.3 kilogram baby girl at midnight.
