Vietnam to potentially face water shortages in next 6 months

VTV.vn - According to forecasts, the El Nino phenomenon is likely to appear in the second half of summer and could last until 2024.

This phenomenon often causes temperatures to increase, resulting in less rain and the risk of a water shortage.

The water supply to reservoirs in the next 6 months is forecast to be less than the average of previous years.

The water flow to Lai Chau, Son La, and Hoa Binh lakes in the Da river basin is likely to be 25–60% less than in previous years, while the flow to Tuyen Quang and Thac Ba lakes is likely to be 32 and 37% lower, respectively.
