After being launched into space, Micro Dragon will observe the Earth's coastal waters to assess water quality, locate aquatic resources, monitor changes in coastal waters for Vietnam's aquaculture; detect cloud coverage and aerosol properties for atmospheric correction; capture sensor signals on the ground before transmitting them to distant locations on earth; and test new material technology. Micro Dragon was made by 36 Vietnamese engineers from the Vietnam Space Centre of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology who study space technology in Japan. Since beginning production in 2013, Micro Dragon was completed and tested successfully in 2017.
