Vietnam to cut quarantine period to 3 days for fully vaccinated foreign arrivals
The quarantine period will be shortened to 3 days for fully vaccinated foreign arrivals to Vietnam.
VTV.vn - International arrivals to Vietnam by air will be subject to three-day quarantine at home if they have been fully vaccinated and test negative for coronavirus using the RT-PCR method.

The new rules are being proposed by the Ministry of Health as Vietnam has achieved a high vaccination rate.

Currently 96.4% of the Vietnamese population aged 18 and above have been inoculated with at least one dose while 76.5% have been given two doses.

Under the draft proposal, during their first 3 days of entry, people entering Vietnam are not allowed to meet with surrounding people nor leave their homes or self-arranged places of residence.

They will be tested on the first and third days after entry and if the test results are negative, they will be required to continue to monitor their health over the following two weeks.

Currently international arrivals to Vietnam must quarantine at designated facilities for seven days and monitor their health for the next seven days.

If the people entering Vietnam have not been vaccinated or inoculated with one dose, they will quarantine at home or other places of residence for seven days. They will be tested on their first and seventh days of entry.

If the test is negative, such people will continue to monitor their health for the following 14 days and will be tested once more on the 14th day after arrival.
