On May 12, Vietnam Television (VTV) met with Venezuela National Television, along with representatives from Venezuela’s Ministry of Communication and Information, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to discuss directions ways to strengthen media cooperation between the two countries.
In attendance were the Director General of Venezuela National Television; the Director General of the International Cooperation Department of the Venezuelan Ministry of Communication and Information, and the Southeast Asia Coordinator of the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
At the meeting, Mr. Do Duc Hoang, VTV's Deputy Director General of Vietnam Television, proposed strengthening the exchange of news and television programs, studying the possibility of creating dedicated broadcasting slots for Vietnamese content on Venezuelan television channels, promoting co-production projects between the two broadcasters, and exploring the possibility of broadcasting Vietnam Today, Vietnam’s national external television channel, on Venezuelan broadcasting systems.
The Venezuelan representatives highly appreciated Vietnam Television's cooperation proposals. They expressed their hope that both sides would continue to maintain regular exchanges and expand practical, effective cooperation in the future. This partnership aims to promote each country's image, people, and cultural life to their respective audiences.
Earlier, on May 7 and 8, Vietnam Television also held working sessions with several media partners in Rio de Janeiro State, Brazil, to promote cooperation in television and international dissemination.
During a meeting with the Rio de Janeiro State Broadcasting Association (MIDIACOM-RJ), representatives from Vietnam Television learned about the operational models of local media and journalism systems. They also proposed cooperating to bring the programs of Vietnam Today to broadcasting systems in Rio de Janeiro State. The association's representatives welcomed the proposal and said they would discuss it with member organizations to identify suitable partners for future cooperation plans.
Vietnam Television also visited and worked with Globo TV, one of the largest media groups in South America and known for its extensive production and broadcasting ecosystem. During the visit, the executives responsible for international relations at Globo TV introduced the delegation from Vietnam Television to the company’s modern studio system. They showed them the outdoor studios, the large-scale production facilities for costumes and props, and how they produce live television programs, as well as long-running television dramas. This area is considered one of Globo TV’s strongest fields for decades.
The two sides discussed opportunities to co-produce television programs and to organize filming teams in both countries to strengthen cultural understanding and connections connections with audiences in both Vietnam and Brazil. Globo TV also expressed its willingness to share its experience with Vietnam Television in producing micro-dramas and operating outdoor studio systems.
Notably, Globo TV stated that it is ready to study the possibility of broadcasting Vietnam Today programs on the group’s channels and distribution platforms at suitable time slots. Both sides agreed to develop a specific cooperation mechanism to promptly implement the discussed cooperation plans.
Vietnam Television plans to finish developing its data exchange system by June 2026. This will create more favorable conditions for international press and media organizations, including Venezuela's National Television, to quickly and conveniently access official and accurate information about Vietnam.
