The Golden Kite Awards 2025 ceremony took place in Hanoi on the evening of January 15. This is an annual award organized by the Vietnam Cinema Association to honor outstanding authors, artists, filmmakers, and works in cinema, television drama, documentaries, scientific films, animations, short films, and research and film criticism.
The television drama No Time emerges as one of the biggest winners in the Television Drama category. Actor Manh Truong was honored with the award for Best Leading Actor.

At this year’s awards, Vietnam Television achieved remarkable success, particularly in the Television Drama category. The network received “shower” of awards, including the Golden and Silver Kites, as well as major individual honors. Specifically, No Time was recognized with multiple prestigious awards, including the Golden Kite for Outstanding Television Drama, as well as Best Screenplay, Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Leading Actor, and Best Supporting Actress. The series successfully conveyed powerful messages about comradeship and the noble sacrifices of soldiers past and present with its 60 episodes, leaving a lasting impression on audiences.
Meanwhile, several other VTV-produced dramas were also honored, including Silver Kite Awards for Peace Where You Are and Milkwood Blossoms in the Wind, as well as a Certificate of Merit for The Only Path. Artists from these productions were also recognized. For example, Meritorious Artist Thanh Quy, who won Best Leading Actress for her role as Mrs. Truc in Milkwood Blossoms in the Wind, and Meritorious Artist Tran Thai Son, who received Best Supporting Actor for his role as Cuong “Ga” in Peace Where You Are.

In the Documentary and Scientific Film categories, VTV units such as the International Television Department, the Science & Education Department, and the VTV Center in Ho Chi Minh City continued to achieve success with socially and scientifically meaningful works.
The documentary The Voice of Conscience won a Silver Kite Award, while its director, Pham Thuy Linh, was honored as Best Documentary Director. The documentary Seeds of Happiness, directed by Nguyen Duc De, received a Certificate of Merit.

In the Scientific Film category, Life in Con Dao National Park, directed by Meritorious Artist Vu Hoai Nam of VTV’s Science & Education Department, won a Silver Kite Award, and the director was also honored as Best Scientific Film Director.
