Vietnam submits human rights report

VTV.vn - Vietnam's national report on human rights of Vietnam was passed under the Cycles of Universal Periodic Review on Thursday, in Geneva, at a meeting during the 41st session of the United Nations Human Rights Council.

At the meeting, Deputy Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung reaffirmed Vietnam's consistent policy of protecting and promoting human rights and the updated information for the Human Rights Council on the protection and promotion of human rights. He also informed the Human Rights Council about Vietnam's approval of 241 out of the total 291 recommendations suggested by countries, reaching a rate of nearly 83%. The Deputy Foreign Minister affirmed that the process of reviewing and approving recommendations was thoroughly conducted with the full participation of relevant members. Representatives of countries, international organizations, and non-governmental organizations welcomed Vietnam's efforts to ensure human rights in the country are upheld, and lauded the participation of Vietnam in the reporting process.
