Vietnam strives for 6.5% growth

VTV.vn - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc chaired the monthly government meeting in Hanoi on Monday, where he asked ministries, agencies, and provincial authorities to do the utmost to achieve economic growth of up to 6.5% set for the whole year.

Prime Minister Phuc said over the past nine months, the national economy has been stable with low inflation and an improved growth rate.

The government also agreed that ministries, agencies and localities will be given the authority to approve working positions, structure and number of employees in 56 thousand units in the public service across the country, instead of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The government also agreed to report to the National Assembly on a proposal to allow free tuition for high school students nationwide and free tuition for kindergarten students from ethnic, poor families.
