The annual celebration is a chance for artists from across the country to get together to pay tribute to the theatre’s ancestors who laid the foundation for the national art forms and contributed to their development through the years.
The event featured the participation of a large number of artists of all generations from across the country.
On the occasion, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC Organisation Commission, Pham Minh Chinh, sent a bouquet of flowers.
At the ceremony, the VASA honoured older artists who have contributed to the theatre over their careers and awarded the 2017 Arts Prize, including: one A, three B, nine consolation prizes for excellent theatre screenplays; two B prizes for excellent research books; one B prize, four consolation prizes for best stage performance; a music award for musicians, five excellent actors in categories of cheo, tuong and folk music.
