VTV.vn - Vietnam considers the European Commission's "yellow card warning" an opportunity to shift from individual-focused fishing activities to more sustainable and responsible fishery.

The country is currently improving its management of fishing vessel operations; strengthening the implementation of law enforcement; and completing the fisheries certificate of origin.

These were confirmed by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc at a meeting with the delegation from the European Parliament's Commission on Fisheries, led by parliamentarian and spokesperson Gabriel Mato on Oct 29. Parliamentarian Gabriel Mato said that he highly appreciates Vietnam's efforts in ending illegal, undeclared and unregulated fishing. He also confirmed that the EU is committed to working with Vietnam in this endeavor.
