Vietnam's rice rxports see record low in 2016

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, this year's volume of rice exports, in the last 11 months, is estimated at 4.54 million tonnes, down by 25% in volume and 20% in value, compared with the same period last year. This is a record low for the last 10 years.

China remains Vietnam's biggest customer, accounting for 36% of total market share. However, Vietnam's rice export to China, since the beginning of this year, reached only 1.5 million tonnes, down by over 35% in both volume and value compared with the same period last year.
