At the event, the party General Secretary highly appreciated President Trump's visit to Vietnam, which has greatly contributed to enhancing the relationship of Vietnam and the US.
During the meeting, President Trump congratulated Vietnam on the success of the APEC Summit and said he was deeply impressed with the country, its people and the achievements it has made, adding that the U.S. and Vietnam share many mutual interests and should boost cooperation in the future.
Also on the same day, US president Donald Trump met with Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc. The two leaders talked about ways to advance the economy, trade and investment.
They also agreed that Vietnam and the US will continue to cooperate in a mutually beneficial relationship as well as work towards avoiding trade and investment disputes.
