Vietnam's efforts in removing yellow card status

A spokesman for the European Parliament's Fisheries Committee, Mato Gabriel, praised Vietnam's efforts to implement the EC recommendations and pledged to accompany Vietnam in its efforts to remove the yellow card. At the meeting, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development affirmed that Vietnam considered the yellow card warning of the European Commission an opportunity to shift to more responsible fishing.

EC recommendations have been added to the fisheries law of Vietnam. Two decrees guiding the implementation of the Fisheries Law and the handling of administrative violations in the field of fishery have been rapidly implemented, showing that Vietnam seriously wants to remove the yellow card in the shortest time possible. Vietnam wants to protect the marine resources along with the rest of the world and build a responsible, sustainable fishery industry.

According to the plan, a delegation of the European Parliament's Fisheries Committee will conduct field surveys in Binh Dinh, Quang Ninh and Hai Phong.
