Vietnam rice prices climb
VTV.vn - The Vietnamese rice industry has been getting positive news since the beginning of the year. Rice exported to Australia saw prices increase by 2000 VND/kilogramme from the previous 15,000 VND.
Vietnamese rice prices have surpassed those of other countries such as Thailand and India. Currently they are at 560-680 USD/tonne, and the price rise has been attributed to the current global supply shortage.
Besides, Vietnamese rice quality has improved greatly to meet the demand in large markets. It is forecast that the upward trend will continue for the next couple of months.
