With the four new patients, the total number of COVID-19 cases in Vietnam has hit 53.
The 50th 50-year-old male patient residing in Nui Truc Street, Ba Dinh district, Hanoi, who was on a business trip to Paris and returned home on March 9. He had a fever, a dry cough, with no chest tightness and shortness of breath.
On March 13, he was admitted to the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases in Dong Anh district of Hanoi Dong Anh and his test result was positive for SARS-CoV-2.
He is now being in quarantine at the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases in Dong Anh and in stable health condition.
The 51st 22- year-old female patient from Bac Tu Liem district, Hanoi is an international student in Europe. She had previously traveled across many European nations from February 23 to March 12. On March 12 the patient displayed symptoms of fever, dry cough, and chest tightness.
On the evening of March 13, 2020, the patient’s sample sent to the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology was tested for SARS-CoV-2. At present, patient is being placed in isolation at the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Dong Anh and remains in stable health condition.
The 52nd 24-year-old female patient from Hong Hai Ward in the central province of Quang Ninh’s Ha Long City is a passenger on a flight from London (UK) to Vietnam on March 9.
She isolated herself at home after returning home in Ha Long from Noi Bai International Airport on March 9. Her sample came back positive for SARS-CoV-2 after being transferred to the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology for testing. The patient is now undergoing quarantine at a field hospital in Quang Ninh and in stable health condition.
The 53rd 53 year-old male patient who is a Czech Republic national. During his stay in the Czech Republic, the patient had contact with Italians. On March 10, he entered Tan Son Nhat International Airport after boarding QR970 flight and then transited at Doha Airport (Quatar). After entering Vietnam, he stayed in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.
His disease started on March 13 with a dry cough and fatigue. The patient’s test result was confirmed positive for SARS-CoV-2 by the Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City.
So far, Vietnam has recorded 53 cases of the COVID-19, including 16 cases of complete recovery.
Earlier the same day, the Ministry of Health also confirmed a further two cases positive for the novel coronavirus in the central province of Thua Thien Hue and Ho Chi Minh City.
