Vietnam receives medical supplies and equipment from Poland

VTV.vn - The Ministry of Health on September 11 held a ceremony at the Tan Son Nhat International Airport to receive medical supplies and equipment worth around US$4 million donated by the Polish Government.

The donations include ventilators, heart rate monitors, face shields, face masks, and personal protective equipment.

Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Truong Son expressed his sincere thanks for the prompt and valuable support of the Polish Government and people, which illustrates the time-honoured and traditional friendship between the two country over the past 70 years.

He also pledged to ensure the timely distribution of the medical supplies and equipment to localities in need.

For his part, Polish Ambassador to Vietnam Wojciech Gerwel, stressed that Vietnam is Poland's priority partner in the region, the first non-European country to which Poland donates vaccines and medical equipment.

Earlier, a batch of 501,600 doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine donated by the Polish Government arrived in Vietnam on August 23.

This was the outcome of negotiations between the countries’ Governments, Ministries of Foreign Affairs, and relevant agencies.
