Vietnam, New Zealand strengthen ties

VTV.vn - Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc said Vietnam and New Zealand should promote trade co-operation in coming time.

The prime minister made the comment at a reception for New Zealand's Trade Minister Todd McClay on Monday. The PM said bilateral trade turnover of 700 million USD should double.

PM Nguyễn Xuân Phúc also hoped that more Vietnamese students would study in New Zealand and more New Zealand investment capital would flow into Vietnam compared with 100 million USD at present. Stressing the role of New Zealand in APEC, PM Nguyễn Xuân Phúc hoped that New Zealand would contribute positively to the success of APEC Summit. Trade Minister Todd McClay said New Zealand Prime Minister Bill English was interested and eager to attend APEC Summit in Danang.
