VTV.vn - Continuing his official visit to New Zealand, Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc met with his New Zealand counterpart Jacinda Ardern earlier today.

At the meeting, the two leaders agreed to move towards a strategic partnership between Vietnam and New Zealand. Both Prime Ministers concurred on promoting an action plan between the two countries from 2017 to 2020, and to strive for bilateral trade turnover of between 1.7 and 2 billion US dollars by 2020.

Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc requested that New Zealand create favourable conditions for importing Vietnamese fruits such as mango, dragonfruit, star apple and longan, and that New Zealand businesses boost investment in mining, energy, infrastructure, education and finance in Vietnam.

A joint statement on achieving a comprehensive strategic partnership was announced after the meeting.
