VTV.vn - A conference was held in Ho Chi Minh City on March 13 to review the five-year implementation of Politburo’s Resolution No. 21 on enhancing the Party's leadership over social and health insurance work between 2012 and 2020.

The event, co-organised by the Party Commission for Communication and Education (PCCE) and the Vietnam Social Security (VSS), attracted the participation of representatives from the two agencies, as well as health departments, and departments of labour, war invalids, and social affairs in the cities and provinces of the southern region.

According to VSS Deputy General Director Dao Viet Anh, over the past five years, the VSS has distributed more than 55.5 million copies of publications in various media from flyers and handbooks to CDs in their efforts to popularise the content of the Resolution.

The VSS has also worked with local news agencies and television stations to publish and broadcast more than 216,000 reportages and articles covering the currently available policies on social, health, and unemployment insurance.

The communication campaigns have significantly contributed to raising the awareness and responsibilities of local Party committees, authorities, and social organisations in the work, while encouraging the people’s participation in social and health insurance, as evaluated by Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, an official from the PCCE.

Since social and health insurance have been established as two key pillars of the social welfare system, in the coming time, the deployment of Resolution No. 21 will focus on enhancing the leadership of local Party committees and authorities involved, diversifying the content and media for communication campaigns, and improving the qualifications of those working in the relevant fields.
