Sharing a number of geographical features and facing the same issues of climate change and rising sea levels, Vietnam and the Netherlands have turned these challenges into opportunities to enhance their bilateral cooperation.
Vietnam and the Netherlands are both coastal states that are in strategic locations. As delta countries, the 2 nations also face challenges in climate change, especially in the areas of agriculture and water management. With the framework of two Strategic Partnership Agreements on water & climate change (in 2010) and on agriculture (in 2014), the fruitful bilateral cooperation is expected to continue in the time to come.
