Laos is the first foreign country that Party Chief Nguyễn Phú Trọng has visited after the 12th Party Congress. This shows great appreciation of the Vietnamese Party and State towards Vietnam-Laos relations. During his tour, the Party chief is holding talks with Lao Party General Secretary and President Bunnhang Volachit and meeting other leaders and former leaders of Laos. The two leaders are going to discuss cooperation in national defense, security, economics, infrastructure, human resources, and tourism, among others. On this occasion, various cooperation agreements between the two Parties and States will be signed.
