The event was co-organized by the Planning & Investment ministries of the 2 nations and the Association of Việt Nam Investors to Laos. At the meeting, it was affirmed that Vietnam had laid a foundation for Laos-based potential industries such as mining, rubber processing, sugar production, and hydropower. Until now, Vietnamese investors have poured nearly 5 million USD into Laos, creating jobs for some 40 thousands local residents. Vietnam also ranks second among countries investing in Laos.
