The dialogue was jointly organized by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI).
The 2018 Vietnam-Japan Economic Dialogue has had 2 sessions, with the first one discussing business opportunities for the service sector in Vietnam. With a market of 95 million people, of which nearly 35% live in urban areas, Vietnam is considered one of the most attractive destinations for businesses from Japan's service sector. The second session focused on "Travel and Transportation." In 2017, the number of Vietnamese visitors to Japan reached more than 300 thousand, making the country Japan's third fastest growing market.
At the Dialogue, business representatives of the two countries expressed their expectation that the newly signed CPTPP would further promote economic and trade cooperation between Vietnam and Japan.
