Since 2022, the first year of the reopening of the Chinese market, the amount of fresh durian exported increased to over 46,000 tonnes. Now, durian continues to maintain its popularity, with prices ranging from 2- 3 USD/kg depending on the type.
In the first 5 months of this year, the export volume of fresh durian fruit reached over 65,000 tonnes, up 41% over the whole of last year. China remains Vietnam's largest durian market.
In 2022, durian exports to China accounted for 78% of Vietnam's total durian exports. In the first five months of this year, that rate rose to 97 percent.
