Its theme is "Achieving A Smart and Resilient City Through A Low Carbon and Intelligent Transport System".
Addressing the forum, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung emphasized that the forum represents the role and responsibility of Vietnam as a UN member in the joint effort to develop an environmentally sustainable transport system.
The focuses of EST12 are discussions on policies on environmentally sustainable transport, the integration of land use and urban development plans, solutions for financial institutions, and mechanisms and partnerships in building safe, smart, adaptive and sustainably developing cities and communities.
Delegates also talked about ways Asian nations can contribute to the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, especially Sustainable Development Goal 11.
