Participants at the Vietnam Energy and Technology Forum 2021 shared their views and held discussions on policies and programmes to support Vietnam in the energy industry, green technologies towards sustainable development, and new technology trends.
They also made recommendations on research and technology transfer as Vietnam is in the process of an energy transition, which has attracted the participation of international organisations along with domestic and foreign corporations and enterprises operating in the energy industry.
Meanwhile, Vietnam Wind Power 2021 is expected to open the door for Vietnam’s wind energy to access the world's latest technologies and solutions in order to accelerate onshore and offshore wind.
The two events aim to give an overview of Vietnam's energy demand and collect recommendations from wind industry leaders and experts, investors and state management agencies towards completing the policy on sustainable energy development.
According to Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Van Tung, the development of different energy sources, without relying on fossil fuels alone, has become increasingly important in Vietnam.
Renewable energy sources will contribute to solving power shortages, enhancing national energy security, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and minimising global warming, he stated.
