VTV.vn - Vietnam has shipped 35,000 medical masks, donated by the city of Da Nang and Vietnamese citizens, to Myanmar to help people in the Mandalay region cope with the Covid-19 pandemic.

The masks were handed over by Vietnamese Ambassador to Myanmar Ly Quoc Tuan to the Mandalay authorities at Yangon Airport on December 12.

At the handover ceremony, the Vietnamese diplomat expressed his hope that the government and people of Mandalay will soon overcome the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

On behalf of the Mandalay government, U Zaw Lin expressed his sincere thanks to the government and people of Vietnam, especially Da Nang, for the timely and practical support for the Myanmar people in general and those of Mandalay in particular.

This is Vietnam’s fourth round of donations to Myanmar, reflecting Vietnam’s willingness to help the country in its fight against the pandemic, contributing to fostering the friendship between the two countries.
