No new COVID-19 community infections detected in HCMC

VTV.vn - The monitoring time period has ended for the recent series of COVID-19 community infections in HCMC that originated from a Vietnam Airlines attendant, and no more new cases were found in the community.

Accordingly, HCMC has traced 3,888 contacts related to the source and discovered three community infections who became patients 1347, 1348, and 1349. All other samples have tested negative.

Currently, HCMC is treating 28 patients in Củ Chi Field Hospital. Patient 1348, who is a 14-year-old boy, is being cared for in the City Children's Hospital. Also on Friday afternoon, Vietnam recorded and quarantined six new imported COVID-19 cases in Khánh Hòa, Đà Nẵng, Hà Nội, bringing the national toll to 1,391.

Right now, the number of infections and deaths caused by the pandemic is still rising rapidly. In just 24 hours, 595,000 new cases and 11,000 deaths were recorded, making the total number of infections over 71 million. Nearly 1.6 million people have died globally due to COVID-19.
