According to a survey reviewing the third quarter of 2017, the country follows India, the Philippines, Indonesia and the US in the list. The study shows that South East Asia is leading in terms of people using spare cash as savings. In Vietnam, the percentage for this category is 66%, while the world's average figure is 52%.
After covering essential living expenses, consumers in Vietnam continue to spend mainly on tourism, new clothes and new technological products. Nielsen attributed the results to positive GDP growth, more FDI inflow, higher incomes and a lower unemployment rate.
