He made the comments at a review meeting held on Thursday in Hanoi. At the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister praised the efforts of the culture sector last year and asked the ministry to thoroughly resolve shortcomings in 2018.
The ministry also needed to focus on training for important fields of study, order valuable literary and art works, spread the good in the society and 'repress the degradation of morality'.
Issues such as family culture or culture industry projects in the age of increased technological change need to be addressed.
