Vietnam, China review 15-year implementation of Tonkin Gulf Fishery Agreement
VTV.vn - A conference was held to review 15 years of the implementation of the Vietnam-China Agreement on Fishery Cooperation in the Gulf of Tonkin.

The event took place in Quang Ninh province by the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.

The enforcement of the abovementioned Agreement has contributed to maintaining stability in the Gulf of Tonkin. It also aims to build peace and cooperation for both countries, according to Vietnamese and Chinese officials. Efforts have been made to disseminate information and educate fishermen to abide by the regulations. After the agreement expires, each side needs to craft a plan to continue assessing fish stocks, recreating them, and reducing the intensity of exploitation.
