VTV.vn - Vietnam and Bhutan share many similarities in culture, history, and religion, thus providing a solid foundation for bilateral relations to further grow.

Vietnam Ambassador to India and Bhutan Ton Sinh Thanh made the remark at a ceremony on January 1 to mark the 5th anniversary of Vietnam-Bhutan diplomatic ties (2012-2017).

There is much room for Vietnam and Bhutan to develop cooperation in a multitude of fields, he said, while expressing his hope that Vietnam and Bhutan will have more exchanges of delegations, step up cooperation in trade, culture, tourism, and support each other at regional and international forums.

Bhutan Ambassador to India Vetsop Namgye in turn said Bhutan admires Vietnam for its struggles for national liberation, as well as renewal achievements.

He said both nations share huge potential for developing tourism and agriculture and believed that they will augment cooperation in trade and investment.
