The move was in line with a similar ban by the US Federal Aviation on the aforementioned laptops, following Apple's June recall of the model for a free battery replacement to prevent overheating and posing a safety threat. Under the CAAV's instruction, passengers and flight attendants would not be allowed to bring these types of MacBook Pros on board, with the restriction covering both carry-on and checked luggage. Passengers that deliberately violate the instruction could be subject to penalty and be denied permission to board.
