Vietnam attends ASEAN world economic forum

VTV.vn - The ASEAN world economic forum opened yesterday in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with the participation of more than 550 representatives.

Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung attended the event and delivered a speech at the opening session.

At the forum, the leaders of leading global firms and officials said that ASEAN was a dynamic region with a young population, which would enable it to access new technology quickly. The establishment of the ASEAN economic community is bringing a new competitive edge to the region.

However, the world is changing and the 4th industrial revolution will bring about new challenges. Only proper policies can help the ASEAN region fully exploit its potentials.

Addressing the opening session, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Dung said that Vietnam has been coping with the world and regional challenges. The government was trying its best to restructure the economy and implement the market to sustain the socio-economic development.
