The focus of this year's campaign is building new rural areas and promoting urban civilisation.
Võ Văn Thưởng, member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Central Propaganda spoke at the event, which welcomed the participation of about 5000 students and volunteers in Nghệ An Province. The main activities of this year's campaign include the University Candidates Assistance Program, and other volunteer programs like Green Summer and Red Holidays. The Summer Volunteer Campaign is considered a chance for the youth to learn and contribute to the country.
