In his speech at the opening session, Quân shared the people-oriented experience and lessons absorbed by the Communist Party of Vietnam over the past 86 years. He expressed belief that the forum would contribute to strengthening solidarity among left-wing parties and revolutionary movements across Latin America and the Caribbean. During the visit, Quan met with the President of El Salvador and Secretary General of the FMLN Salvador Sánchez Cerén.
