This marked a milestone in Vietnam Airlines’ more than two decades of development. The 200 millionth passenger was Vietnamese Nguyễn Trường Chinh, who took Flight VN223 from Hanoi to HCM City. The flight landed at Tân Sơn Nhất International Airport at 10:10 am on Tuesday morning. During the 1995-2017 period, Vietnam Airlines operated more than 1.6 million flights on both international and domestic routes and posted an average passenger growth rate of 11 percent per year.
