After nearly two hours of flight, at 18:15 local time, the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam delegation arrived at Yangon International Airport, Myanmar, to carry out their international rescue mission.
During the night-time journey, Colonel Nguyen Minh Khuong, head of the delegation, assigned 26 members to three task teams. Initially, they were responsible for transportation, and assembling equipment and supplies. Upon arrival at the site, they would set up camps and implement rescue plans.
Attending the event were Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Pham Viet Hung, representatives from Suvarnabhumi International Airport and the Thai Immigration Bureau.
Speaking at the event, Ambassador Pham Viet Hung highly appreciated Vietnam Airlines' efforts to promote tourism connectivity between Vietnam and Thailand. He emphasised that the launch of this direct flight connecting Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok with Da Nang would contribute to attracting more tourists from Vietnam, Thailand, and third countries to both nations.
Ambassador Pham Viet Hung affirmed that there is still great potential for tourism cooperation between Vietnam and Thailand. During the 2023-2024 period, nearly one million Vietnamese tourists visited Thailand, while 500,000 Thai tourists travelled to Vietnam.

He emphasised that the new route would increase Da Nang's visibility among international travellers and further promote tourism cooperation between the two countries.
With the launch of the direct route linking Da Nang and Bangkok, Vietnam Airlines continues to reaffirm its role as a bridge, strengthening its regional flight network. The airline will operate four flights per week on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays, aiming to meet the growing travel demand between these two leading tourist destinations in the region.
