Vietnam Airlines, Jetstar Pacific to increase domestic flights from April 16

VTV.vn - Vietnam national flag carrier (Vietnam Airlines) and Jetstar Pacific Airlines will increase flight frequency between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City from April 16 under the administration and licensing of the CAAV.

Vietnam Airlines will operate two flights a day on the route, while maintaining one daily flight on the routes between Da Nang and Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh City.

Jetstar Pacific will also increase its flight frequency between the capital city and the southern biggest city from four per week to one daily.

The flights will be conducted in the form of code sharing with Vietnam Airlines to save resources and costs of the two airlines in facing Covid-19.

The flights landing in Ho Chi Minh City will take a minimum of 90 minutes.

The airlines will strictly spray disinfectant and cleaning equipment on the aircrafts immediately after each flight and at the end of the day.

They will maintain the regulations related to prevention and control of the epidemic, including health checks and health declaration of passengers, health declaration before flights, leaving space between seats according to requirements and refusing to transport passengers showing signs of the virus.

* The Vietnam Maritime Administration (VMA) announced on April 15 that the agency worked with the Vietnam Maritime Pilots Association, the Vietnam Shipowners' Association, local shipowners and pilot companies in the form of an online conference, discussing the adjustment of the prices of maritime pilot service.

Accordingly, the service' fee will be reduced to a minimum as prescribed in the Circular No.54/2018 /TT-BGTVT issued by the Ministry of Transport.

All Vietnamese vessels operating on domestic routes, including boats and VR-SB vehicles, will enjoy a reduction of 10% from the current prices.

* The Ministry of Transport has just sent a speeding document to relevant units and provinces and cities directly under the Central Government, featuring the implementation of the Prime Minister’ direction at the Government's Standing Board on April 15.

Accordingly, the Ministry asked the General Department of Vietnam Roads, the CAAV, the VAA, the Vietnam Railway Authority and the Vietnam Inland Waterways Administration to urgently develop plans to transport passengers in provinces and cities in each risk group.

* The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport announced yesterday that will extend its suspension of road passenger transport until April 22.

The suspension will not be applied to vehicles used for official purposes or the supply of food and necessities, along with those picking up workers and experts or carrying materials and products, and ambulances.
