This week's Road to Olympia Mount competition featured four contestants: Tran Quang Tung (Vinh University High School - Nghe An), Do Ha Trung (Thai Phuc High School - Thai Binh), Nguyen Nhut Lam (Cai Be High School - Tien Giang), and Pham Hoang Quan (Le Quy Don Specialized High School - Binh Dinh).
After the Individual Warm-up round, except for Nhut Lam, who had 40 points, the other three contestants — Quang Tung, Ha Trung, and Hoang Quan — all had 20 points. In the 12 common kick-off questions, every contender tried to ring the bell and answer. As a result, Nhut Lam emerged as the contestant with the highest score in this round with 60 points. Ha Trung followed closely with 45 points, Quang Tung had 40 points, and Hoang Quan was at 20 points.
However, in the Overcoming Obstacles round, the competition took an unexpected turn. Quang Tung relied solely on the first horizontal word to ring the bell and answer. The schoolboy from Binh Dinh could not hide his anxiety, as he was not quite sure of his answer. However, it turned out to be the correct answer, and his audacity allowed him to overtake Nhut Lam, Hoang Quan, and Ha Trung with 110 points.
In the Speed Up round, the contestants had the opportunity to rapidly increase their scores. All four contestants made efforts to give the fastest and most accurate answers.
Quang Tung consistently gave outstanding performances in the first two questions. By the third question, Nhut Lam was the only one to score points, narrowing the gap with the current leader, trailing by just 40 points. By the end of this round, Quang Tung led the group with 210 points. Nhut Lam closed the gap with 190 points. Hoang Quan had 100 points, and Ha Trung had 105 points.
In the Finish round, Quang Tung was the first contestant to compete. He chose the 3 questions worth 20 points each for a safe strategy. Quang Tung answered two questions incorrectly and finished with 230 points.
Nhut Lam, with a relatively small point gap, chose the 3 questions worth 20 points each. He then answered ⅔ of the questions incorrectly, ending the round with 210 points.
Hoang Quan opted for the 20 - 20 - 30 point package. Due to incorrect answers, the points fell to Nhut Lam, allowing him to catch up with Quang Tung, who was then in the lead. Hoang Quan answered the Physics question correctly and ended his round with 130 points.
Ha Trung chose the 90-point package and the star of hope question for the two contestants with equal scores. However, in a surprising turn, neither Quang Tung nor Nhut Lam could provide an answer to the final question. Meanwhile, Ha Trung provided the correct answer, closing the round with 145 points.
In the end, Quang Tung and Nhut Lam had to face a bonus question. It was a chemistry question. Quang Tung rang the bell first but gave an incorrect answer, while Nhut Lam provided the correct answer. Nhut Lam advanced to the upcoming Quarter Round of Road to Olympia Mount.
