He told the National Assembly on November 11 that the ministry has directed local education authorities to proactively formulate teaching plans that are flexible and also ensure the absolute safety of children.
Under the MOET’s guidelines, the curriculum focuses only on core content and online, offline and television classes are being switched in a flexible manner depending on the virus situation.
According to Minister Son, education is one of the sectors hit hardest by COVID-19 as nearly 20,000 students have been unable to go to school for some time and over 70,000 final-year students cannot graduate as scheduled, affecting the supply of manpower.
Furthermore, online learning has stressed and tired out teachers, students and their families.
Minister Son stated that although the virus is gradually being brought under control, the education sector still faces numerous difficulties.
He pledged that the ministry will strive to use all available resources and capacity to minimise the impacts of the pandemic on the quality of education.
