Various activities mark Revolutionary Press Day

VTV.vn - A range of activities were held across the nation on June 19 to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925-2020).

A new museum showcasing the contributions made by journalists over the years was officially opened in Hanoi on June 19.

The Vietnam Press Museum featured more than 20,000 exhibits and documents covering from 1865 through to the present day.

The exhibits depict coverage by journalists from the resistance time through to modern times.

Almost 20,000 original exhibits are on display at the museum, including 700 rare and unique objects.

The museum also features 26 videos to introduce visitors to the history of Vietnamese journalism and the outstanding journalists who have worked in the industry.

Nhan Dan Newspaper held a meeting at its headquarters in Hanoi on June 19 to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.

Addressing the meeting, Party Central Committee member, Chairman of Vietnam Journalists Association (VJA) and Editor-in-chief of Nhan Dan newspaper Thuan Huu stressed that the press has played a vital role not only in communicating with and encouraging the public, but also in assisting the Party and State in policy making.

He noted with pleasure that members of the VJA are now operating in various genres of journalism both domestically and internationally.

On the occasion, he presented the VJA’s “For the cause of the Vietnamese revolutionary press” medals to Nhan Dan Newspaper’s outstanding reporters and collaborators.

Also on June 19, the central province of Khanh Hoa held a meeting to celebrate the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day and presented the annual press award.

Similar events were also held in the central provinces of Quang Ngai and Phu Yen on the same day.
