The management board of the Fund for Vaccination and Prevention of the Coronavirus Disease publicises the fund balance daily as well as a list of units, organisations and individuals that have supported the fund on the website of the Ministry of Finance and in the mass media according to the provisions of Circular No. 41/2021/TT-BTC dated June 2, 2021 from the Ministry of Finance guiding the Regulation on the organization, operation, management, accounting and settlement regimes, and financial disclosure of Vietnam's Covid-19 vaccine fund.
According to Minister of Finance Ho Duc Phoc, the money in the fund is a crystallisation of the people's love, responsibility, sharing and deep patriotism.
"We must have the responsibility to properly, closely and transparently manage and effectivyl use the fund to best serve epidemic prevention and control" , he said.
At the request of the Ministry of Health and as approved by the Prime Minister, the fund will be released for the Ministry of Health to buy vaccines to serve the people.
The Ministry of Finance committed to publicising transparently the daily amount, each donation and the settlement of the Ministry of Health after each round of vaccination against COVID-19," Minister of Finance Ho Duc Phoc committed.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Health has said Vietnam needs 150 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine costing VND25.2 trillion (US$ 1.1 billion) to inoculate the roughly 75 million people needed to reach herd immunity.
