Themed “Colours of traditional costumes of ethnic minorities in the north during the period of integration and development”, the festival featured the participation of 600 artisans, mass actors and actresses from 17 provinces and cities, in the northern region including Hanoi, Vinh Phuc, Phu Tho, Hoa Binh, Son La, Yen Bai, Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Lang Son, Bac Giang, Thai Nguyen and Quang Ninh.
The artisans and mass actors and actresses from ethnic minorities in 17 provinces and cities, introduced the delegates and visitors to colourful costumes imbued with distinctive and unique identities of their culture.
This is an opportunity to introduce, promote and honour the values of traditional costumes and culture of Vietnam's ethnic minorities, as well as arouse pride in the cultural heritages of each ethnic group.
A wide variety of attractive cultural activities will take place during the festival, including the show of traditional costumes of ethnic minority groups, an exhibition of typical cultural products, the display of embroidery and hand-woven traditional costumes of ethnic minorities, an exhibition of traditional costumes, and the reproduction of the market in the northern mountainous area.
