From January 1-3, 2022, 17 international flights were conducted by four Vietnamese airlines, including Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, Bamboo Airways and Pacific Airlines, as well as seven foreign airlines, namely Thai Vietjet from Thailand, Singapore Airlines form Singapore, Turkish Airlines from Turkey, Starlux Airlines and China Airlines from Taiwan (China), Emirates of the UAE and Asiana Airlines of the Republic of Korea.
The flights carried 1,753 passengers to Vietnam through Tan Son Nhat, Noi Bai, Da Nang and Can Tho airports.
Since the resumption of regular international flights, the CAAV has received many comments from Vietnamese and foreign airlines, focusing on rapid COVID-19 tests before boarding and after leaving airports in Vietnam, the requirement of collecting rapid test fees with the air ticket, and the medical declaration at different addresses and applications.
Airlines are asked to conduct rapid tests and handle cases testing positive for the virus.
The airlines asked the CAAV to discuss with medical service units to increase personnel and testing desks to quickly release passengers upon their entry, based on the airlines' operation plans.
The CAAV asked the Ministry of Transportation to maintain the use of test results by RT-PCR method as the countries and territories and Vietnam have applied over the recent time.
In the case of maintaining rapid tests, the rapid testing fees should be collected directly from passengers.
