VTV.vn - Ukraine's parliament has passed constitutional amendment to commit to join NATO and the European Union.

During a February 7 session, 334 out of 385 deputies in the session hall supported the law. Addressing the lawmakers ahead of the vote, President Petro Poroshenko said the vote will strengthen his government's resolve to carry out economic reforms.

He also called the measure an important step toward eventual membership in the Euro-Atlantic structures. The EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, which came into force on September 1st 2017, is considered the main tool to bring Ukraine and the EU closer together.
