VTV.vn - As of 7 am on November 9, Typhoon Yinxing, the seventh typhoon formed in the East Sea (South China Sea) this year, is located about 430 km to the northeast of the Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelago, according to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.

The strongest winds near the storm centre are at level 14 (150-166 km/h), with gusts as high as level 17. The storm is moving in a northwest direction at a speed of about 15 km/h.

It is forecast that within the next 24 hours, the typhoon will continue to move northwest at a speed of 15 km/h. During this period, the storm will gradually weaken.

By 7 am tomorrow, November 10, when it is about 350 km north of the Paracel archipelago, the storm’s intensity is expected to have decreased to level 12, with gusts at level 14.

In the next few hours, the storm is expected to change direction towards the west-southwest, and its intensity will continue to weaken. As it moves towards the waters of Quang Ngai Province and Quang Tri Province (around November 12), it may weaken into a tropical depression.

Due to the impact of the typhoon, the northern part of the East Sea will experience strong winds of level 8-11; near the storm centre winds will reach level 12-14, with gusts up to level 17. The sea will have 4-6m-high waves, and may reach even 7-9m high near the centre. The sea will be extremely rough.
