VTV.vn - Typhoon Melor, with wind speeds reaching up to 150km per hour, already churning through the central Philippines, is heading for the East Sea.

To brace for the storm, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control issued an urgent meeting on December 15th, asking the border and marine police to actively inform all vessels out on the sea about the storm. A quick report early yesterday morning said 910 vessels were fishing in the middle of the East Sea and near the Spratly and Paracel Archipelagos, and about 52,700 vessels were in other places like Quang Ngai, Phu Yen, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Binh Thuan./.
