Tuyen Quang Province celebrates 190th founding anniversary

A ceremony was held in the northern mountainous province of Tuyen Quang on November 4 to mark the locality’s 190th founding anniversary and the 30th anniversary of its re-establishment as well as to receive the third-class Independence Order.

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Chairman of National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue sent congratulatory flowers to the Tuyen Quang authorities and people.

The ceremony was attended by Politburo members: Permanent member of the Party Central Committee (PCC)'s Secretariat Vo Van Thuong, and Head of the PCC’s Economic Commission Tran Tuan Anh; among others.

Addressing the ceremony, Politburo member Vo Van Thuong hailed the great and proud achievements that the Tuyen Quang provincial Party Committee, authorities and people have gained over recent years.

He also emphasised that Tuyen Quang is one of the provinces reporting the highest forest coverage rate and forest plantation areas in the country.

The Party official added that the locality has also focused on raising the quality of its socio-economic infrastructure; preserving and promoting the unique cultural identities of local ethnic groups; improving the people’s spiritual and material lives; and maintaining social security, defence, security and social order.

He lauded the positive changes in Party building and the authorities’ management in Tuyen Quang province other recent years.

Politburo member Thuong asked the province to take appropriate measures to safely and flexibly adapt to the COVID-19 pandemic, towards protecting people’s health while boosting socio-economic recovery and development.

He stressed the importance of the preservation and promotion of the Tan Trao special historical relic site to make it become not only a "red address" for the educational activities of the country but also a major centre of culture, history and tourism.

The Politburo member also urged the acceleration of Party building and rectification in the locality in the coming time.

On behalf of Party and State leaders, Politburo member Vo Van Thuong presented the third-class Independence Order to Tuyen Quang province.
